Yes people it is true I am a hypocrite!
Many, many times I have said I do not miss swimming and will only be in a pool to float on a raft!
Well as many of you may know two weeks ago I went swimming since I am not allowed to run. This morning I did something I never ever thought I would do. I went to a masters swim practice, GASP! I know it is such a shocker! I couldn’t believe it myself either! And to be honest with you, I did not hate it! I went with my friend Laura who I swam with on my high school team and club team. We used to practice for club team at the pool the practice was at this morning and totally brought back many swimming memories!
It felt like first day of swim season all over again! It hurt but the good kind of hurt I was very proud of myself after. It was sort of an IM set which meant I did all freestyle especially when it was backstroke time (believe me when I say this, I look like a drowning rat when it comes to the backstroke!)
Pre workout I ate some protein oatmeal (oatmeal prepared at directed, plus 1 scoop chocolate proteing, a scoop of pb and apple pieces) I think I am going to have to eat earlier or go lighter next time because the oatmeal was like a block in my tummy at the beginning of the practice!
Swimming ran from 1030-12 and after coffee was needed and a little retail therapy (cute shoes were purchased)! and then I filled my belly at Tabouli Grill the restaurant my best friend works at! It was fantastic!
I think I am going to need another one! I am off to Brooklyn for a birthday celebration! Happy Saturday!
