A friend of mine is trying to get toned up and he has asked me to give him some workout ideas. One of my favorite things to do it to come up with circuit style strength training workout to do for myself at the gym. While coming up with some for him, I figured I should share one I did last week and loved! Hopefully you like it to.
The workout was inspired by this workout from Fitness Magazine, I just decided to add some burst of cardio in there as well. (The moves can be found by clicking on the name of the move, or by looking for them on youtube). Use weight of choice, I tend to use 10lbs and keep 8lbs close by if my muscles are feeling extra fatigued.
Strength and Bursts of Cardio Circuit
Plank, Row, Flye- 20 on each arm
1 minute Burpees
Scorpion Extension -30 on each side
1 minute jumping jacks
Tap and Curl- 12 reps repeat 3 times on each side
1 minute Butt Kicks
One arm snatch 12 reps each side repeat 3 times
1 minute jog in place
Two way wood Chop- 12 reps repeat 3 times
1 minute plank
Cheerleader Lunge -12 reps repeat 3 times
1 Minute Standing Mountain Climbers
Plie Sqaut- 12 reps repeat 3 times
1 minute crunched or choice
