I recently had the opportunity to try a nice little tasting of the new Spring menu at Piattini on Newbury street in Boston Ma.
I rarely head into the city to dine out and when I do I find myself venturing away from Newbury street for restaurants so I was excited to try a new to me restaurant on Newbury St.
Piattini had just recently re-opened its doors because it had to undergo a major renovation after a fire from the apartments above caused it to shut down.
Piattini is a small plates restaurant so guests should go in prepared to share with their party. Although if you’re like me you will order small plates just for yourself because you don’t like to share 😉
We were treated to some delicious cheese pictured above and while we enjoyed the cheese everyone else enjoyed trying some of Piattini’s signature wines. Some of the wines at Piattini are made just for Piattini so you won’t be able to get them anywhere else. I certainly can’t wait to go back and try some of the wines sampled that evening, I was told their signature Montepulciano is delicious and can’t wait to try it for myself!
After that we were treated to some delicious food!
This dish was so delicious! It honestly tasted like there was meat in it because of the smoked mozzarella and the fresh tomato and truffle cream sauce was so good I could have made a meal out of just that!
The salmon was cooked perfectly and the potato cake served underneath it was so good! I would definitely order this dish again!
Despite the fact that I was beyond full there is always room for dessert!
Of course it was delicious and fortunately I was too full to have more than a few bites because it wasn’t gluten free. But so worth the few bites and the berry sauce was the perfect accompaniment to the torta.
If you haven’t checked out Piattini I highly recommend it and you can even check them out Saturday and Sunday for brunch!
