Last weekend my mom and mother in law threw our little man the most perfect nautical themed baby shower! Jeff and I decided on a nautical theme for the baby’s room, once we actually have a room so the shower themed was based around that.
I think it is safe to say that our little boy better like all things ocean because everyone did a great job of sticking to the theme!
My mom and mother in law out did themselves with all the decorations and personal touches! My mother in law made the center pieces and my mom made the cutest cookies of a whale, octopus and sea horse for all the guests to take home with them! Not to mention she made whale shaped rice krispy treats and cupcakes for guests to enjoy at the shower!
All the personal touches and detail did not go unnoticed by any of the guests and I am fairly certain that when our little boy has time with either of his grandmas he is going to come home with a ton of new crafts he has made.
Lunch was provided by The Well (long time readers know I used to manage the store) when we decided to have our baby shower in CT I knew I wanted to have The Well cater it so I could have all the things I had been missing oh so much! The food certainly did not disappoint and was just as delicious as I remember!
After lunching I opened some gifts and eventually Jeff showed up and I made him help open some gifts, there were a lot to get through! Our little guy was very spoiled and we are so grateful for all the amazing things we got and all the people who came out to celebrate!
I cannot end this post without talking about my dress!
It has been hard to feel good in clothes lately, your body changes so much during pregnancy it is hard to look in the mirror and think “man, I look good today.” Fortunately my day to day attire is usually yoga pants and tshirts but when it comes time to get dressed for a night out or an event I find myself thinking I’d rather just stay in then be faced with trying to find something to wear!
I was so thrilled to stumble across Pink Blush Maternity clothing line and immediately feel in love with all of their clothes! They have the cutest maternity clothes for everyday wear (they aren’t just a maternity clothing line!), going out on the town, or for a fancy occasion, they literally have something for everyone! I was even more excited when I was able to receive a complimentary dress to wear at my shower and showcase on the blog!
When it came time to selecting a dress I knew I wanted something flowy, I am not one to embrace the bump the way some women are able to. I wanted something I would be comfortable in and not self-conscious in, when I saw the Peach Open Lace Overlay Bell Sleeve Maternity Dress I knew it was THE dress I wanted to wear!
I was so happy with how the dress looked and felt. I got a ton of compliments on it which makes a pregnant mama feel good about herself for a bit.
Thank you to Pink Blush for making me feel pretty for our baby shower and thank you to everyone who helped celebrate our little boy!
And just like that we have 5 weeks to go and I am officially in the nesting stage and so ready to meet our little boy!
