Weekend in Maryland

Hey there! How are you and how was your weekend? Mine went WAY too fast!

If we are being honest I am having a little bit of the post weekend blues.

I spent the weekend in Maryland seeing a bunch of college girlfriends and it made me wish I could do that more often/that we were back in college and could hang out all the time.

The main reason behind my trip was to finally meet my best friend from college Ashley and her husband Andy’s baby boy! Ashley gave birth to her cute little boy Finn the day after my birthday this year!

I arrived in Maryland around 1230 on Friday afternoon and soaked up as much baby time and friend time I could. I unfortunately took little to no pictures, some of the baby but they prefer to keep him off the internet. Friday late afternoon my friend Shannon came to visit and even though our time with her was short it was so nice to see her!

Saturday morning we started with a nice walk around the neighborhood before we headed out to go to a used book store, I didn’t pick up a single book over $3! I honestly could have spent hours perusing the aisles but I was glad to find a few books that have been on my ever growing “want to read” list on Goodreads.

After book shopping we grabbed lunch at Cava Grill, which was a really great spot, it was set up just like Sweetgreen but it was Mediterranean fare and you could make a bowl with grains, green or both or you could make a pita. It was delicious and I hope they open one in Boston soon because I know it would do very well here!

After lunch we made our way home to hang out until a few other college girlfriends came over for tacos, much needed catch up and a failed attempt at a fire pit to make smores.

Sunday morning was another beautiful day so we started it with a walk around the neighborhood and then got ready to go to Baltimore to meet up with our friend Rachel and see her house and grab lunch with her.

We got lunch at Modern Cook Shop which I had found on instagram and the smoothie bowl looked too good to pass up!

While the food was good catching up was so much better!

Shortly after lunch I had to say my goodbyes and Ashley and sleeping Finn dropped me off at the airport.

I had such a great weekend seeing some girlfriends and it was fun to hear about the happenings in their life and reminiscing about our crazy college days. I wish we all lived closer or it was easier to visit more often but I am so glad I got to go!

Do you get to see your college friends often?
