The 2016 Greenwich Wine and Food Festival is upon us and to say we are excited is an understatement.
While we have loved it every single year I think last year was our favorite year thus far (I might be known to say this every year..). However, last year we stayed way later than we had in past years and that was when the real fun started! We ate all the tacos, chips and guac and drank all the margaritas we could when they opened the Mexican tent around 3:30. Prior to that we were busy housing sliders and trying to decide who made the best burger!
This year’s chef line-up is looking pretty amazing already and something tells me they will keep adding more.
Confirmed celebrity chef talent include Alex Guarnaschelli (“Chopped,” “Iron Chef,” Food Network’s “All-Star Academy”), Marcus Samuelsson (“Chopped,” “Iron Chef,” winner of “Top Chef Masters”), Marc Murphy (Executive Chef of Landmarc restaurant at the Time Warner Center, “Iron Chef,” “Guy’s Grocery Games,” “Beat Bobby Flay”), Michel Nischan (Founder and CEO of Wholesome Wave, founder and partner of the former Dressing Room restaurant with the late Paul Newman, activist), Adam Richman (“Man Finds Food,” “Food Fighters”) and Kevin Des Chenes (“Chef Wanted,” “Beat Bobby Flay,” 2015 winner of “Top Celebrity Chef Showdown”).
I always enjoy searching for Adam Richman and taking creeper shots for my friend Shannon, maybe this year I will actually get a picture with him!
Last year I actually got a picture with Kathy Lee Gifford which was pretty cool! She also has her own wine, and I thought it was cool she showed up to pour it for guests. If I am being honest, I can’t remember if it was good wine or not, I had several tastes by then and everything was starting to taste the same.
So if you are looking for a fun little weekend activity September 23-24th I cannot recommend this event enough! I have never experienced Friday’s activities but I am sure they are equally as awesome. I can tell you Saturday’s events are amazing, you will definitely get your money’s worth!
Tickets are on sale now! I would recommend getting them ASAP!
All net proceeds from the event will benefit The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, founded by Paul Newman, this camp provides seriously ill children with a remarkably empowering away experience, as well as The Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation.
