Months ago I posted about my current routine to cure my acne and since then I have switched things up dramatically.
I was pretty discouraged and figured I would be stuck with acne forever and just continue to look like a teenager. I did a little research and decided to try a few new things out and see how they worked and I am telling you they worked GREAT! Not only have I been able to reduce my breakouts to maybe 1 or 2 pimples (I breakout when I am stressed and I seem to be stressed 24/7 so this is a huge improvement to the pimples that used to always be on my chin or forehead) I have also been able to get rid of the stubborn acne scars I had on my face.
Since I am sure I’m not the only one who struggles with adult acne I figured I would share my little routine with you all.
My brother actually told me that products with glycolic acid are the best for people with acne pron skin because it breaks down the build up on skins surfaces. I use this every night. They recommend 2-3 times a week so I would do what you think works best for you.
After I wash my face I use tea tree oil as a spot treatment. With a q-tip I dag it on to any pimples I have or areas where ones might be forming as a preventative measure. Tea tree oil is effective because it has disinfectant and soothing properties. It will combat the pimples without damaging your skin further. It’s AMAZEBALLS!
You guys, this stuff is flipping FANTASTIC! I noticed the biggest difference in my skin once I started putting this on after my tea tree oil. I just rub it in to effected areas or areas that I had some scaring and now its gone! If you do one thing for yourself buy this! It is great on razor burns and scars. It’s just magic in a tub if you ask me! Calendula gel works for acne because is kills the Propionibacterium; the bacteria that cause acne It’s mildly antiviral, and gets the redness and swelling out of infections by its anti-inflammatory activity.
Last but certainly not least..
I while ago I read that it is bad to wash your face with face washes twice a day because it takes all the moisture out of your skin and basically only does more damage. I already have dry skin so I didn’t want to keep taking the moisture out of my skin. Jojoba oil is a great alternative (for me) as a face wash. It helps remove dirt from my pores and leaves my skin feeling smooth and moisturized, although I put lotion on before my makeup I feel like I could skip the lotion after using this. While jojoba oil helps my acne people with oily acne pron skin probably want to stay away from this product.
It is hard to say if one of these products are working better than the other but combine the products are doing wonders for my skin. I wish I could say they will help everyone but trial and error will only tell.
What is your skin care routine?
Do you use any of the above products?
