Wedding Day Part 1: Getting Ready

Well I guess it’s about time I recap our wedding! I mean it has been over 2 months now. In case you missed our rehearsal day post you can read it here.

August 31st started bright and early for me considering I couldn’t sleep. I decided to hit up the hotel gym to kill some time and calm my nerves. While at the gym I tweaked my back and was in a lot of pain for the rest of the day (honeymoon too) and I also decided to check the weather. The weather report was not looking promising, scattered showers were supposed to occur. I tried the its ok if it rains bit in my head but at the moment I cared. I went to my parents room and talked to them, they asked when the venue needed to know if we wanted to move it inside and I actually had no clue so I texted Jeff to find out and let me know. The good news was they didn’t need to know until 3 so we decided we would see how the day went and touch base in a couple of hours.

My hair dresser Amber came to the hotel to do our hair, Amber has been coloring and cutting my hair for years now so I knew we would be in safe hands! My makeup artist Danielle came to the hotel as well.

The girls spent the day hanging out in the hotel room getting hair and makeup done and relaxing. Everyone told me the day was going to go by super fast and not to rush anything and wish the day away. I did my best to stay in the moment and enjoy the day with my friends and family because I knew that it would be over in a blink of an eye.

Once we were all done up we all started to get ready. I was pretty nervous all day and putting my dress on made me so nervous and excited all at the same time! I wanted to cry but did my best to not because I didn’t want to ruin my makeup just yet!

Seeing my dad for the first time made me tear up for a bit, but once I saw him I felt ready to get the show on the road!

Once we were all ready we took a limo the Wadsworth Mansion so I could take pictures with my bridesmaids before the ceremony.

As you can see the sun came out, it was actually pretty warm out. After pictures with my bridesmaids we went inside to hide while the guys came and took some pictures outside.

Jeff and I didn’t want to do a first look but we did want to have one of those “secret” pictures, I had envisioned us standing on either side of a door holding hands. Fortunately my photographer saw it another way and went with is because I am so pleased with how the pictures turned out. I ended up seeing the back of Jeff which was fine, but he never saw me.

As soon as I saw the back of Jeff I felt a huge sense of calm. I was so happy to see him and hug him. My photographer pointed out that we could talk to each other but neither of us said anything. I later told him I was too worried I would start to cry.

After out “secret” pictures I said cya later to Jeff and hurried back inside.
