I thought today might be a good day to start recaping our whole wedding experience. Our wedding “week” if you will started mid week when family members slowly started to trickle in from out of town. My parents housed most of the early guests and did a great job of entertaining all of us and feeding us well!
Saturday August 30th was rehearsal day! I woke up, went to bar method and got a blow out because of certain hair issues I was having I thought it was necessary to get a blow out.
Because people were getting married that evening at our venue we had to have our rehearsal around lunch time.
We rehearsed outside because we planned (key word planned) on getting married outside in the rose garden.
After the rehearsal we planned for everyone to go to Arrigoni Winery in Portland, CT for some snacks, wine and relaxation.
We hung out there for a couple of hours chatting, taking pictures and drinking wine. After that we headed out to the hotel for everyone to freshen up and then head to Nora Cupcake Co. for our rehearsal dinner.
They have a really cool room that you can rent out for events and bring in your own food and alcohol. Jeff’s mom and dad did a great job giving it a personal touch.
We brought in food from Illiano’s in Middletown, CT. They did a great job of catering to my gluten free needs and made some great pasta dishes and a delicious salad.
After eating dinner Jeff and I gave our gift to our parents and I gave mine to my bridesmaids. Jeff had given his gifts already. For the dad’s we got them matching ties to wear to the wedding. For the mom’s I had bracelets made by Aquinnah Jewelry (she made my wedding earrings).
You already know what I got the bridesmaids. I also bought Cait and my friend Ashley a small gift for doing readings at the wedding. I found their bracelets on Etsy.
For dessert we obviously got Nora’s cupcakes! We chose 3 cupcakes and a gluten free one
All of which were delicious and we can’t thank Nora enough for letting us have our rehearsal dinner here. The whole evening was a blast and super relaxed just the way we wanted it to be.
After dessert we all hung out for a while before heading back to the hotel and calling it a night.
All of my bridesmaids stayed with me. I didn’t do too much sleeping that night and woke up fairly early Sunday morning anxious to get the day going!
Which cupcake would you want the most?
Did you go to any wineries this summer?
