Curing Acne the Natural Way Part 2

So a few weeks ago I told you all about my 26 year old stint with puberty and how I was attempting to cure it naturally..

The things I was doing just weren’t working the way I wanted them to, feeling down about myself I made an appointment to see the dermo. My dermo must be a popular guy because I couldn’t get in until the end of May! If you are anything like me looking like a pre pubescent teen at 26 doesn’t really make you feel good about yourself and I didn’t want to have to wait that long to have answers, nor do I really want to be put on antibiotics.

Someone told me they thought I might be having a reaction to my laundry detergent or shampoo so I switched my laundry detergent to Tide Free and Gentle.

I switched my shampoo to a new to me company Kathy’s Family, a small company that we are looking to carry in the store and I had a sample of. I picked up conditioner from Nature’s Gate and even switched my body lotion too.

Doing both of those things helped but I needed more.

I found some Alba Ancedote while browsing Walmart and decided to give it a shot. YOU GUYS, this stuff is freaking AMAZING!! I noticed a difference in my skin over night (nobody paid me to say this). I will sing this face washes praises to everyone.

The last piece was to try a new supplement at the urging of the old store owner I decided to try evening primrose oil.

Evening primrose oil helps with hormonal acne, which turns out to be what I have because since taking evening primrose my skin is a zillion times better!

If you suffer from hormonal acne topical treatments won’t cure it, sure they may help to eliminate existing breakouts but you need to cure the root cause which is hormone imbalances.

Evening primrose oil contains Linolenic Acid and Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) which are both Omega 6 fatty acids. This particular fatty acid plays a role in insulin absorption, cell structure, regulating hormones, improving nerve function, promoting skin elasticity, regulating the heart and regulating mood. Omega 6 is not created naturally by the body, so it must be derived from food sources (or supplements.)

If you are my age and have been struggling with acne and the topical stuff isn’t working for you I highly recommend taking evening primrose oil, it also helps with PMS.

Right now I take two 1,300mg pills a day. Afte a month or two I will cut it down to 1 pill a day but there is no harm in taking two pills.

I am soo happy I figured out the root cause of my acne before going to the dermatologist, because even though he would have given me an antibiotic I still would be breaking out.

Do you think you suffer from hormonal acne?

Have you even heard of evening primrose oil?
