The Chelsea

Over a month ago Jeff and I had a fabulous dinner at The Chelsea, this restaurant has been around for a few years now but this was our first time dining there.

The atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant was really cool. It was rustic looking with dim lighting and just a cool feel upon walking in.

We started the evening off with a nice bottle of red wine

We shared an AMAZING appetizer! We got the GARLICKY SHRIMP: caramelized garlic, chili flake & sherry vinegar, spooned over grilled garlic bread Seriously people I could have eaten like 5 more of these. She marinade was killer and I kept saying I wished I had more bread to dip into the leftover sauce.

For my entree I got CARAMELIZED SCALLOPS: concord grape sauce & chutney, wilted spinach, toasted peanut & cippolini ragu. I almost asked for no grape sauce, I wasn’t sure if that was going to be too sweet for my liking or not but my instincts told me to trust the chef. I am so glad I did, I practically licked my plate clean!

Jeff got some meat and loved it. I sampled a bit and was very impressed.

We hardly get dessert when we go out to dinner but the crumble stood out to both of us and we decided to share it. The CRUMBLE: local apples, brown sugar crumble, scoop of cinnamon gelato. This cinnamon gelato was to.die.for!

Seriously I wish I could mail you all some to sample. Every so often I tell Jeff that I want to go to the Chelsea just to have dessert!

We were certainly impressed with our meal and the service was great and our waiter was very attentive.

I hope to go back soon, if not for dinner at least for dessert πŸ˜‰
