Trapeezing with Larabar

HI folks, hope you had a great weekend! Things were pretty low key around here and I spent most of the weekend recovering from the activity I got to partake in on Friday!

If you follow me on twitter or instagram you will know that I was trapeezing! Ashley invited me to have an “uber” moment with Larabar at the New York City Trapeze school!

I was apprehensive at first when I was invite. I am kinda sorta scared me of heights and I wasn’t sure if I would follow through. After sleeping on it I decided that this was something I NEEDED to do. When would I ever get an opportunity to do something like this!?

Upon arrival I met a bunch of great women, including Lara herself and her awesome mom who was ready to attempt trapeezing. We all bonded over the nervousness of what we were about to do. After being briefed on what to do once we climbed to the top, it was time to get going.

Walking up the ladder was the hardest part for me. My legs were shaking the whole entire way up. Once at the top my legs continued to shake. As I stood there with my feet over the edge waiting for my commands a million thoughts were going through my head. Most of them were trying to tell my legs to stop shaking because I was afraid I was going to fall off the platform. Once they told me to go I immediately jumped off because I was shaking so much. I couldn’t stand there any longer. As soon as I was in the air I felt so free, I am pretty sure I had the cheesiest smile on my face. On our first turn we were instructed to get our legs up so we could hang from the bar, which looked so much harder then it was. Once I dropped down I couldn’t wait to go again. On our second turn we got to do a flip, which I nailed and was so impressed as soon as I got down I got in line to do another one.

After everyone got a few turns a select few of us were eligible to try the catch. Basically we would get into the hang position and someone (a trained professional) would catch us. I was one of those people. I unfortunately turned my arms too far away from the catcher and he wasn’t able to get me. A bunch of the other girls nailed it and it was so cool to see!

I am extremely grateful I got to join in on this experience, so far it is one of the coolest things I have ever done in my life. If you ever get the opportunity to try it I highly, highly recommend it!

How was your weekend?

Have you ever done something that took you out of your comfort zone? How did you feel after?

Thank you, thank you to all the wonderful people at Larabar for including me in this experience!
