There is nothing healthy about these cookies, except maybe the fact that I used organic peanut butter, and sugar :). Ha but they are worth every calorie and they don’t count cause they are home made 😉 at least thats how it goes in my book.
I made No Bake Cookies for a co-worker’s birthday today (Happy Birthday Dorothy) and I also made them to make up for another co-worker’s birthday (Happy very late Birthday Mireille) who I never made anything for, so they each got their own bag of no bakes! These cookies are soo yummy and soo easy to make there is not baking required hence the name and take about 5 minutes to whip up. I was first introduced to these cookies freshmen year at my dinning hall! These were my weakness and I hoped for them everyday, they didn’t have them everyday but did have them often. However after my freshmen year the presence of No Bake Cookies were few and far between. They must have decided they were too unhealthy to make or something (phssh) like we cared! Anyways I always talked about them but never made them, until I was in South Africa and made them for my last day of school/ our christmas party. My small people loved them! How can you not! Peanut butter, oats, chocolate! Now that I have made your mouth water I suppose I should give you the recipe for these little treasures
No Bake Cookies (makes 12-20 depending on how big or small you make them)
2 cups sugar
3 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
3 cups quick oats
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
1.) In a sauce pan bring sugar, cocoa, butter, milk and salt to a boil
2.) Add oats, peanut butter, vanilla, remove from hear and mix well
I am aware they look like globs of poo but I can assure you they taste nothing like it!
