As a person who had read quiet a few self help books along the way, I recently read “A Place of Yes” by Bethenney Frankel, and I found this book to be extremely inspiring. There were many things she talked about that I found myself saying “oh my gosh I know exactly what you mean.”
The short and sweet version I took away from her book was that you should always chase after your dreams. If you fail at least you can say you tried. All the people you meet, places you go and life challenges you are faced with are all things that will help you get to where you want to be. We all have different up bringing’s and we all have different “noise” as she calls it but, over coming the “noises” in our heads telling us we can’t do things will ultimately help you to succeed. This book really inspired me to want to make things happen in my life and to shut out the “noises” that hold me back from things. It is easier to tell yourself you can’t do something then actually trying it out and figuring out you can, or maybe you still can’t but at least you can say you tried. I know what I don’t want to be doing and I know what I am passionate about, now I am just trying to figure out how to put it all together. There are certainly days were I just want to give up but then I set myself straight, this is my life and it is going to be what I make of it.
If your feeling like your in a life rut like myself and like to read “self- help books,” I suggest picking up a copy of this book, it may inspire you.
Tonight I was in the mood to use Soba noodles again, my mom had wanted me to make the Soba Noodles With Grilled Shrimp since she had missed out that last time, but I wanted to experiment with them.
Tonight I made up a Soba Noodles with Pesto Shrimp recipe, and it only took about 10 minutes. It certainly earned my approval! 5 carrots!
Soba Noodles with Pesto Shrimp
1 bag soba noodles
1 bag uncooked shrimp
1 tbs pesto
1 onion chopped
1/4 toasted pine nuts
1/2 lb cherry tomatoes halved
1.) Place shrimp and a bowl and add pesto, coat let sit.
2.) Cook soba noodles according to the packages.
3.) While noodles are cooking spray and heat a skillet, saute onions and add the pine nuts to toast. Remove from heat and set aside. You can also halve your tomatoes while you are waiting.
4.) Once noodles are done, drain and rinse with cold water until the noodles become cold.
5.) Heat your skillet and spray with cooking spray add shrimp cook each side for about 1 and 1/2 minutes.
6.) In a bowl add your noodles, onions, pine nuts, tomatoes and shrimp. If you would like you can add additional pesto I did not because I used up what we had.
